The Kite (RMBP4-12) is an advanced 12V Ni-MH smart battery with an exceptional −20°C to +100°C operating range. Built from 3mm aluminium, compact enough to fit in a jacket pocket, with AMPHENOL connectors and a built-in analytical computer.
The KITE (RMBP4-12) is a new generation of Nickel Metal Hydride Battery. This unit is one of, if not the most advanced battery in the world today — a truly smart battery in every sense of the word. With its vast range of working temperatures, −20°C to 100°C, both the outer and inside of the case have been treated with a special powder coating which is resistant to most chemicals, including acid. A four-segment LED display shows the battery state of charge via a simple press-to-test button. A built-in analytical computer allows information to be downloaded from the battery. All plugs and sockets are AMPHENOL and are totally waterproof, complete with dust caps. The purpose designed RMBC 4 charging unit charges the battery in less than 5 hours. A minimum of 600 recharge cycles before a cell change and software update is required. This small, lightweight and compact battery is constructed from 3mm aluminium and has an outstanding power-to-weight ratio — small enough to fit discreetly in a jacket pocket.
An operational range of −20°C to +100°C is among the widest of any battery system in the world, making the Kite suitable for the most extreme environments from deep Arctic to desert conditions.
Built from 3mm aluminium with an outstanding power-to-weight ratio, the Kite is small enough to fit discreetly in a jacket pocket while delivering full military-grade performance.
A built-in analytical computer allows full battery performance data to be downloaded at any time — enabling predictive maintenance, cycle tracking, and readiness reporting.
Both inner and outer surfaces are treated with a specialist powder coating resistant to most chemicals including acids, providing protection in contaminated and CBRN environments.
A four-segment LED display shows the battery state of charge instantly with a press of a button — giving operators a reliable charge check without additional equipment.
Military AMPHENOL plugs and sockets, fully waterproof with dust caps, provide reliable, ruggedised connectivity for all field conditions.
The Kite (RMBP4-12) is catalogued under NATO Stock Number 6130-99-657-6849, simplifying procurement through standard military supply chains and allied nation purchasing agreements.
Small enough to fit discreetly in a jacket pocket, the Kite delivers full military-grade smart battery capability in one of the most compact form factors available.
Tested globally, this product covers every area of operations without performance compromise in any climatic zone.
Fully operational at −20°C with no pre-warming. The Kite delivers consistent performance in Arctic, mountain, and cold-weather operations where battery failure is critical.
With an upper operating limit of +100°C, the Kite exceeds the performance envelope of most comparable batteries — capable of sustained operation in extreme desert and tropical heat.
Waterproof AMPHENOL connectors with dust caps protect the battery in wet, muddy, and high-humidity environments typical of amphibious and jungle operations.
Powder-coated aluminium casing resists most chemicals including acid, enabling safe use and decontamination in CBRN-threat environments.
